Skylar R. Bayer is a marine ecologist, marine habitat specialist, science communicator, and storyteller based in Alaska. Her primary research interests are invertebrate population dynamics, scallops, aquaculture and fisheries management, marine habitat conservation, and collaborative research.

As a science communicator and storyteller, her work has appeared on television, radio, popular science magazines, and is a co-editor of an anthology of personal stories, Uncharted: How Scientists Navigate Their Own Health, Research, And Experiences of Bias. Now available!
